About Jon

Jon Austin is a passionate worshiper of God. He has been writing songs for 10 years and released his debut E.P. “No Time but Now” in 2009. Jon’s music is experience driven. His lyrics are born out of his own experience and share the story of his journey with God. Jon’s music is building bridges between the Christian and secular worlds of music. You would be just as likely to hear Jon singing in a coffee shop as you would hear him leading worship in a church.  His authentic style relates to people from all walks of life. Jon plays the acoustic guitar and much of his music takes on an acoustic feel.

Jon works part time as a worship leader at New Hope Community Church. As a worship leader, Jon’s goal is to be selfless. He desires to lead others into communion with God. Jon has a deep passion to use music as one way of experiencing the presence of God.

Jon has a beautiful wife of 7 years, Angela. They have 4 children, Caleb (5), Johnny (3), Hannah (2), and Lily (10 months).

Jon is passionate about international development and is currently working on a master’s degree in this field. Jon and his family hope to be serving overseas in a developing nation at some point in the future. For now, they are happily living in Boardman, OH serving where God has planted them. Jon will be recording a full length album within the next couple of months, hoping for a late 2010 release date.
